Periodic Table

In this project students will learn about the elements, the similarities and differences they have to one another, and the significance of their arrangement in the Periodic Table.  The final product will culminate with the creation of an interactive Periodic Table of Elements including a representative painting of each element based on the students’ research.

The idea of the periodic table is to arrange the elements according to how they make the most sense, both logically and appropriately.  When we look at the title “Periodic Tabel”, we can quickly make sense of the jumbled letters, and it becomes even more engaging once it is paired with an easily identifiable periodic table.  Some may never even notice the title until they take a closer look at it.

All students will be required to create a Dreamweaver webpage to document their work for these benchmarks and link it to an online interactive Periodic Table.

Students taking Jeff Robin’s class in the spring will use their digital illustrations as place holders in our Periodic Table until they have the opportunity to paint it.
